Rosie and I got to the library at 9 and began researching our respective artists. I did not know much about Dalí or his works before, so this was very helpful. Dalí was born in Spain in 1904, and spent his childhood summers in a fishing village called Cadaqués. Scenes from Cadaqués often appear in Dalí’s paintings, such as the ones below (Enigmatic Elements in a Landscape, left, and Giant Flying Demi-Tasse with Incomprehensible Appendage Five Meters Long, right). The beaches there have many unusual rock formations from which Dalí drew inspiration, as seen on the right side of the horizon in Sun Table.

Most of the day was spent working in Processing to recreate Sun Table. Tomorrow I am going to work more on implementing the tiles, which I first need to find the coordinates for. It was easy to draw them on paper, but finding the exact coordinates of the diamonds to give the computer is going to be difficult.
