FSem 132 Methods and Issues in Cryptology Fall, 2005

Late Policy

A dean's excuse is required to make up a missed exam.

All other assignments (including quizzes) will be penalized 5% if turned in by midnight on the due date and 10% per day or partial day thereafter. An assignment due in class on Thursday will be penalized 5% if handed in by midnight Thursday night, 10% if handed in any time on Friday, 20% if handed in any time on Saturday, etc.

Special circumstances must be arranged in advance whenever possible.

Honor Code

Colgate's Honor Code is described in the Student Handbook. It applies to all work completed in this seminar.

Exams and quizzes are to be completed solely by the student. Only those reference materials specifically mentioned in the instructions are allowed.

You may discuss all other work (unless stated otherwise) with your classmates to get ideas or compare methods. However, any assignments you turn in for credit must be principally your own work. You must write up the assignment independently and credit in writing anyone you worked with or received help from. You must also fully understand the help you are given - that is, you must be able to explain the solution and how that solution was generated.

It is never acceptable to copy part or all of another student's work and submit it as your own. Facilitating academic dishonesty by allowing someone to copy your assignment is also considered a violation of the policy. You should never loan your disk to another student or allow another student to use your network account.
